Corner Canyon Draper, Monday May 30, 2011On a
wet and cold Memorial Day Monday morning, 29 UMB team members showed up to
race on the Corner Canyon trails for the 6th ICup race of the season. It
was 38 degrees during registration, with occasional fine rain. The trails
were thoroughly soaked but held up well, with only occasional mud-bogs.
UMB had first place finishes by Michael Buhler, Rachel Hutchings, Richard
Ewell, and Joel Quinn, with 2nd places by Jonathan Hall and Jay Griffin.

Gloomy. Cold. Looking

the arena, we see snow covering the
mountains
down to the valley floor
as more clouds threaten. |
Jackie barks at the

safety of a locked car. But notice the stuff below the
windshield wipers. Yep, that's SNOW. |

The weather warmed up before the awards, and
it turned out to be a great racing day. Draper is usually one of the
most-attended races, but the rotten weather kept many racers away. Our
racers who braved the early-morning ugliness did well. The season is now
