Solitude State Open
Big Cottonwood Canyon - June 30, 2007 Solitude
was pleasantly warm, sunny, and dry as a bone for the State Open
championships. Deep dust, big rocks, and plentiful roots made the riding
technical. We put 22 racers on the mountain, 13 of whom took points for
the team. 2007 state champions for their categories are Justin
Griffin, Carlee Hunsaker, Stephen Bergen, and Colin Hunsaker, with second-places by
Brian Oliver and Dave Larsen. Photo:

championship
in the 10-12 category, Justin Griffin hits
the downhill switchback hard. So far this
season for Justin, it's been 8 races held,
8 races attended, 8 races with 1st place
finishes. We don't want to jinx Justin, but
has any racer EVER had a PERFECT year
in the history of the Intermountain Cup? Right:
Flying down the trail is Carlee Hunsaker,
grabbing team points with the 6th-place overall
and the top girl's finish for the ladies'
10-12 state championship |
