Intermountain Cup Season Champions:

In the 2009 season, 14 UMB racers got to the season podium. For each individual racer in a Sport, Expert, or Open category, racer points were counted for the top 11 of that racer's 12 races. Winning an individual category season championship takes a lot of effort and sacrifice (in addition to speed) and we want to honor our racers who finished in the top three for the season.
Category 9-and-under:

Jakob Haderlie, 2nd place, 775 points

 

Hunter Ransom,  3rd place, 621 points
Category 10-12:

 Zachary Peterson, 2nd place, 785 points

 

Brayden Nielsen,  3rd place, 725 points
Sport Men 19-29: 
Stephen Brown,  2nd place, 422 points

Sport Men 30-34:

Derek Ransom, 1st place, 508 points

Sport Men 35-39:

Darren Harris,  2nd place, 614 points

Sport/Expert 16-18:

Justin Griffin, 1st place, 785 points

Sport Women:

 

Catherine Reay, 3rd place, 437 points

Women 35-plus:

 

Sally Hutchings,  2nd place,  573 points

Men 50-plus:

Jay Griffin, 1st place, 878 points

Men 57-plus:

Joel Quinn,  2nd place,  629 points

 

Bruce Argyle, 3rd place, 598 points
Clydesdale:

Expert Men 19-29:

Eric Ellis, 3rd place, 803 points

 
In addition to the season winners above, UMB had several "almost got podium" racers, for whom a single missed race bumped them off the podium. Fourth place in their categories were Denmark Jensen (SM 35-39),  Shane Horton (Singlespeed), Jake Weber (SM 30-34), and Jolene Nosack (W 35+).

UtahMountainBiking -- 2009 ICup Champs

The UtahMountainBiking ICup race team won 8 of the 12 races in the 2009 season, for a total of 1599 points. Runner-up Mad Dog won 2 races, but made consistently strong showings to score an impressive 1375 points for the season. Third-place Revolution also won 2 races, and assembled 1040 points. Many UMB racers contributed to the team points and trailwork credit, helping UMB to win the season. Thanks, racers!

UMB has won the ICup team championship three of the last four years.
