Hillclimb (anaerobic power) Time Trial

This test measures mid-range anaerobic power. The climbing course should have a significant slope and be free of traffic hazards, stoplights, or stop signs. Riding time should be 5 minutes for anaerobic power, 15 to 20 minutes for power endurance. Note riding time, peak watts during climb, average watts during climb, average heart rate during climb, and peak heart rate.

Warm up 10-20 minutes.

Lactate Threshold Time Trial Test

Course should be fairly flat and free of traffic hazards, stoplights, or stop signs. Riding time should be 30 minutes. Ride at race-level effort. Note riding time, average watts, and average heart rate. The average HR of the last 20 minutes is the Lactate Threshold Heart Rate (LTHR). The average power is the Lactate Threshold Power (LTP).
