What’s New for Spring 2025?
We previewed Zooropa just as the finishing touches were being put in, and the updates are impressive. The first major jump has been completely reshaped—it’s bigger, cleaner, and has a ton of pop. Thanks to the skilled work of Uinta Jumps (Dusty) and James Logan (not able to be there for the preview), the entire trail feels more dialed, with better drainage, smoother berms, and more confidence-inspiring features.
If you’ve ridden it in previous seasons, expect a cleaned up version with better flow, fewer rocks in the berms and some really creative lines through jumps, bumps, doubles and rollers. The updates cater to both those with beginner mountain biking skills and more experienced riders looking to push limits on style and flow.
Meet the Builders: James & Dusty
A few days ago I got a call from my friend James to let me know that Zooropa was almost ready to go and that we should head over and get some wheels on the ground. He was super excited about the first jump especially. Although during our preview I undershot it a few times, he reports having gone a bit too fast on a test run and flew a total of 40 feet. Although the jump is only 24 feet long tip-to-tip, it has such a long safe landing that overshooting it wasn’t a big deal, other than a lot more hang time and a bit of a rattled brain.
During our early access ride, we got to chat with Dusty from Uinta Jumps. James and Dusty have poured heart and precision into shaping Zooropa’s features. From sculpting lips to optimizing transitions, their work shows a deep understanding of how trail flow and rider psychology work together.
Dusty told us the trail should officially open by this weekend—and now, it’s ready. The first jump alone is worth the ride, but the entire trail is packed with detail-oriented improvements that reflect rider feedback from past seasons.
Ride Impressions: Playful, Poppy, and Progressive

You can go a lot bigger and boost a lot higher, post us some better pictures in the forum and we’ll throw them in here.
But the creativity that Zooropa allows you to have is absolutely tasty.
Riding Zooropa now is like jumping into a flow state. The new lines are smooth, fast, and forgiving, which is ideal for those working on mountain bike jumps and berm control. On our test laps, we noticed:
- The rebuilt first jump rewards commitment with a clean send.
- Even if you case it, the landing is mellow—perfect for progression.
- Berms have better shape and grip, inviting more speed into corners.
- Multiple lines let you pick your flavor of fun—scrub, pop, or pump.
For riders with 1–3 years of experience, this trail is a playground. You’ll be able to grow your skills without getting in over your head, especially if you’re just getting into beginner mountain biking with a taste for jumps. There are no mandatory doubles or gaps, but there are double for those who want them. There are no mandatory drops or steep sections. Just amazing trail flow to get your creativity and mental state flowing.
For vetran riders, you can take the more progressive approach and boost off the bigger lips and doubles. Unlike Levitate, this trail can be ridden by friends of varying degrees of experience and everybody should have a good time.
The Rest of Zooropa is Well Built, Polished and Buttery
Drainage has been worked on, hopefully we can keep the rocks out of the pipes and keep these jumps drying out when rain comes.
Even the deer are getting pumped about these jumps.
The berms have been cleaned up. Very few nasty boulders now and still that same great view of the wasatch mountains.
The builders have pushed us out to the sides (left and right) so we don’t run a track right down the middle of the jumps. Pick a side, do your trick.
These berms are so flowy you can carve them like a wave. This makes the average rider start to imagine how it feels to be Brandon Semenuk – Ok, maybe I took it too far there, but these are amazing.
Finally, the evening view from the parking lot is stellar.
How to Ride Zooropa Responsibly
As always, make sure the trail is officially open before dropping in. Builders work hard to keep things running smooth and safe, so let’s show them the respect they deserve.
- 🚧 Don’t ride closed trails.
- 🧰 Help out on dig days to make our trails better.
- 🌧 Avoid the trail after rain—it’s built to last, but every rut matters. Check Draper’s trail conditions page for more info
