Utah Mountain Biking Trail News

Salt Wash Singletrack. Newer route with singletrack plus technical rock riding, parallels the Sovereign Trail, with several cross-connections for various riding options. Advanced technical, moderate climbing. Can opt-out of hairy technical descent. Season late February through November.

Santa Clara River Preserve. Singletrack trails just southwest of Santa Clara. Links to trails within the preserve on this page. Season year-round.

Scott's Pass Loop. Includes trails Silver Spur to Spiro to Eagle to Crescent Mine Grade to Apex to Dead Tree to Scott's Bypass to Shadow Lake to Keystone to CMG back to Park City Resort parking. Huge climb, complex navigation. Season July through September.

Scout Camp Loop. Loop ride from Brian Head resort connects to the Dark Hollow trail, then loops around to return to Brian Head resort area. Forested riding, intermediate technical. Season June through September.

Serpendipity. The Serpendipity loop is 8 miles with 650 feet of climbing. From McCoy Flat, the loop consists of a climb via Jackalope, descent on Serpendipity, and a return on Retail Sale. Intermediate technical. Season March through November.

The Serpentine Trail has been known as "Suicidal Tendencies." This trail starts off the little loop at the top of Sidewinder in the Santa Clara riding area, dropping through a small valley to a loop on top of the next mesa. It has some technical spots with steep exposures and tight switchbacks. Season year-round.

Shingle Creek. Short singletrack follow Shingle Creek uphill as an out-and-back. Intermediate technical, mild climb. Mostly forested riding, no vistas. Season June through September.

Shram Creek Loop. Moderate-length singletrack loop with short portion of paved road, Payson Canyon. Includes Shram Creek Trail and portions of Rock Spring and Jones Ranch trails. Moderate climbing, intermediate technical. Views and forested riding. Season June through October.

Sidestep North and South. Alternate routes along Baby Steps in the Klondike riding area, offer shortcut versus extended rides versus a loop ride by combining them. Season March through November.

Silver Lake Flat. Gravel-road ride with moderate climbing to loop around a beautiful alpine lake. Easy technical. Family camping, hiking, splashing, fishing, and picnic options. Options for singletrack climb/descent. Season June through October.
