Controlled turn: Feet level, inside foot forward. Slow but don't stop. Lean bike, then look
around the turn. Let handlebars turn, releasing the front brake. Let bike roll around the switchback.
Slow, but keep the bike rolling at a speed that keeps balance. | Press weight onto downhill hand, tilting handlebar. | More weight on uphill foot to keep control. | Roll into the turn. Begin inside lean. |
Release pressure on inside hand, but maintain tilt. | As bike picks up speed, move body to inside of turn. Begin weighting outside hand. | Straighten handlebars and "unlean" the bike. Pressure is on outside hand. | Bike turns to meet body; begin first pedal stroke. |
